El nombre de Bee Gees, se debe a las iniciales de Brother Gibb (hermanos Gibb) que son BG, en ingles se pronuncia Bee Gee.

El mayor éxito mundial les llegó en 1977 al componer la banda sonora de la película
Saturday Night Fever (Fiebre del Sábado Noche) protagonizada por john Travolta.
